and a style called Night Club Two Step.
Try my simple dance test
1. Have you ever wanted to get in shape but hated exercise?
2. Do you like meeting new people, couples or singles?
3. Do you like having fun!
4. Do you like moving to the music when you're in the shower or at a bar?
5. Do you like looking sexy and cool?
6. Do you like feeling like you can do something that many other people cant?
If you answer yes to any of these (and probably all of them as they apply) you should seriously think about dancing!!
But hey you! I can't Dance, I'm a clultz and fall down a lot. I have no sense of rhythmn.
Naaaa, that's just the beer taking effect.
Everyone can dance at some level and if you take lessons, you'll be totally amazed at what you can do.
You'll feel awesome and good about how you'll feel physically. '

Ok, I'm interested but tell me more, where do I go ??
I would recommend West Coast Swing as a good place to start dancing. If you feel overwelmed, start with group lessons.
You'll meet lots of great people in group lessons that are also learning so you share the same beginnings.
See a short video on the main page. There are LOTS of different dances. It's a big discussion which I'll save for later. The most important fact is that West Coast Swing is a partner dance that allows expression on the part of the Leader and the Follower. No other dance has the open ended cool smooth flow that West Coast has. No other dance allows you to dance to the coolest music on the planet, the most modern R&B pop music, the most awesome smooth Jazz, the most fun classic blues tunes. WCS has it all.
Is West Coast Swing hard or harder to learn then other dances?
It's not the easiest dance but it's the best. You can get dancing pretty quickly but to be really good at it takes a while.
So, to be fair to other dances, if you simply can't stand the thought of learning the best dance (wink wink nudge nudge)
then at least learn East Coast Swing (the simple easy swing) or waltz. But be aware, the transition from East Coast to West Coast will come at a cost of unlearning a few bad habits.
My advice: Start with WCS in the first place and make life easy and fun AND dance to the BEST MUSIC out there!!
